Repcon Associates is a Kenyan owned company fully registered under the Companies Act.The name Repcon is an abbreviation for Resource and Environmental Planning Consulting Associates, which in a nutshell, captures the business focus for the company.
The company was founded and registered in 1998 with the aim of offering homegrown expertise and solutions to resource planning and environmental management challenges in Kenya and the Region.
Though registered in 1998, the firm brought together the cumulative experiences of the partners who had been in consultancy since the early 1990.
Originally established as a partnership operating from an apartment building, we have expanded to a fully-fledged consultancy firm located its own Training Resource Center at Muguga- the research capital of Kenya.
The original focus of the firm was forestry related consultancy services. However, with time and in order to meet increasing demand, the firm has progressively expanded activities to cover the entire spectrum of Environment and Natural Resource Development.
Under this focus, we have specialized in provision of research, consultancy and training services for sustainable environmental management. The company maintains an up-to-date data bank comprising a wide selection of literature and data covering the entire realm of environmental practice including standards of quality and this guarantees quick synthesis and production of quality outputs and reports on any of the relevant sub-sectors.
Our firm therefore has all the necessary capacity to deliver and we are committed to satisfying our clients' requirements.

Human Resources:
Repcon Associates brings together the combined experiences and skills of its founders. All partners have been closely involved in development programmes for the last two decades whereby, coming from different disciplines and experiences, they spearhead implementation of innovative approaches to development thinking namely participatory frameworks that enhance dialogue, forge partnerships and encourage conflict management and resolution. These efforts put strong emphasis on small-scale and local solutions targeted at eliminating bottlenecks to sustainable development- a bottom-up, beneficiary oriented approach, coupled with intensive hands-on training alongside capacity building for grassroots and indigenous knowledge bases targeting effective use and management of limited funds, improve the chance for achieving sustainable results. Wairagu is an Environmentalist with over 27 years' experience in development planning in the sectors of water, forestry, ASAL and general environmental conservation. His specialization in watershed management and environmental impact assessment in Kenya has exposed him to the complex issues interrelating environment and natural resource utilization in Kenya. Mr. Wairagu has extensive experience in providing consulting services to government funded projects, bilateral and multilateral agencies in project development, Environmental assessments, and capacity building and policy analysis. This combined experience has enabled him to become an authority on environment and development issues in Kenya.
Mr. Richard N. Ng'ang'a: Safety/ Health Specialist:
Mr. Ng'ang'a is accredited by the Environmental Auditors Registration Association (EARA) of Manchester (UK) as an Environmental Auditor. He has also undergone the Unilever Consumer Safety and Quality Lead Auditor Course in Durban-RSA, Training of Trainers Course in Nairobi, and in ISO Systems Implementation. Other relevant trainings include, Unilever Framework Standards (Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Quality and Consumer Safety Hazard Management (SHEQ)) in Durban (RSA), Hazards Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) – Durban, Hazards Operability Studies (HAZOPs), Pre-Hazards Analysis (PHA) – Durban and the Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) offered by the Japan Institute of Plant Management (JIPM). Mr. Ng'ang'a has previously worked as Production Manager at Unilever Kenya Ltd where duties included SHEQ Management at Plant level, Sustenance of Total Productive Management (TPM), amongst others. As the Safety & Environment Officer at Unilever, Mr. Ng'ang'a was responsible for implementation of Unilever Safety Hazard and Environmental (SHE) policy and management systems and organizing and conducting Safety and Environmental Risk Assessments amongst others.
Monichah Nyang (Mrs) is an MA holder in Sociology. Has additional skills on Children's issues and protecting the rights of the child, has carried out data collection on the identification of orphans and vulnerable children. During this period, as a Volunteer Children's Officer at the community level she has vast experience in group dynamics, community sensitization and mobilization, participatory rural appraisal as well as focused group discussions.
